Last band to play competitively at the 2012 British Pipe Band Championships was Strathclyde Police Pipe Band under Pipe Major Duncan Nicholson. This was a kind of farewell to Annan because these championships move to Bathgate in 2013. Strathclyde Police played the following March, Strathspey and Reel [MSR] set in the Grade One competition: March: The Argyllshire Gathering [composed by John MacColl, 1860 - 1943] Strathspey: The Ewe with the Crooked Horn [trad.] Reel: Pretty Marion [trad.] Strathclyde Police took sixth place in the Grade One Championship.
